Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep, tarry, mineral nose of no great attractiveness. Deep, heavy brew of little subtlety and a lot of power. May come around in a few years’ time, but I’m not holding my breath- 13:

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Intense, mature, elegant, and complex nose, with prunes, Earl Grey tea, smoked meat, and hints of cinnamon and orange peel. Full body, balanced with great tannins perfectly supported by the layered fruit. Long and clean on the finish. A superb Nebbiolo, with great finesse and maturity- 18.5:

Jancis Robinson: Blackish ruby. Relatively opulent but with some real interest on the nose. Tea leaves. Pure and intense. More forward than many but no ersatz sweetness. Some lift on the finish. Dry and neat. Beautiful balance. Cool and fresh. Finishes dry but not drying. Very pure. Drink 2014–22- 17.5 :
