BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Light ruby to tawny. Intense, clean, mineral nose, with crushed stones, bing cherries, aromatic herbs, and rosewater. Medium body with intense tannic grip. Not a monster of complexity but a very approachable, inviting Barolo. | 89

Stephen Brook | Sweet, ripe nose, with a raspberry-jelly-like character, but it also shows some purity of fruit. Supple and juicy, with a fine thread of acidity running through it. It’s a bit aggressive now, but there’s sufficient fruit to ensure it will come around. It’s solid without being heavy but does lack some drive on the finish. But it has brisk pepperiness, too. | 86

Andrew Jefford | Dark, clear black-red. Resonant cherry fruits, glowing and warm: fruit embers. A lovely scent. Smooth, intense, striking on the palate, with some rawness toward the end and assertive acidity; a noble wine nonetheless. A very fair summary of the vintage. | 90
