Nicolas Belfrage: Nearly opaque. Attractive, typical nose of rose petal and dark berry fruit. Lashings of sweetand- sour fruit on the palate, with extraordinary persistence and length in the mouth. Beautifully balanced and penetrating wine. Drink from 2018 for many years. 18.5
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to lively pink rim. Mature, clean nose, with small red and black fruits, orange-peel, and hints of cloves and fresh herbs. Full body, round, sweet-fruited palate, with big yet ripe tannins and a long, clean finish. A very youthful wine that will age for many years. 18
Andrew Jefford: Dark, dense black-red. A very exciting nose: sweet, dense, close-hatched, with lots of crushed spice and plant matter in it—indeed, almost minty. The leather isn’t far behind. On the palate, this is slightly less dense and concentrated than the aromas contrived to suggest, but there is lots of flavor action nonetheless, with characteristically uncompromising, plum-sloe flavors. The tannins and extracts are a little on the light side. Good wine nonetheless, and no need to wait an age. 14.5
