Simon Field: Deep purple, then spice, herbs and attractive fruit compote on the nose. The palate sings ripe hedonistic fruit, with plenty of exuberant ripeness and real fire in its belly. A Falstaffian hymn to the vintage that is charmingly demonstrative and difficult not to like. 17
Richard Mayson: Open, opulent berry-fruit aromas, quite soft, rich and attractive now, but with some firm peppery tannins to keep the wine going. Good mid weight, middle-distance wine. 14
Jancis Robinson: Purplish crimson. Tarry nose. Very fresh impact on the front palate - very sweet and gorgeous. Where are the tannins? Answer: only on the very end of the palate, and then they are very fine. This is nice wine; I’m just not sure it’ll last that long. Clean and refreshing. 15
