Simon Field: Dense of colour, spirited of nose, with a pleasing whiff of violets. On the palate, rich and complex, chocolate and damson - almost trying too hard. Structurally sound, however, and impressive on the finish. A good effort! 15.5

Richard Mayson: Raw, spicy but opulent aromas, very fragrant, open and quite floral. Has real concentration, too! Very sweet in style, quite tight and spicy, with peppery tannins rising in the mouth. Firm peppery length. Very good middle-distance wine. 15

Jancis Robinson: Not especially intense crimson. Spirit dominates the nose. On the palate, the spirit and the acid rather stick out. Very green vegetation sort of astringency on the finish. A bit simple. 10.5
