Alison Buchanan: Black-garnet, prune juice in colour, this presents very dark, brooding fruit and is rather recalcitrant on the nose. The palate, in contrast, is seductive, mocha-rich, layered with vanilla and plump, macerated, autumnal fruit. Tannins are ripe, well integrated and provide a fine support to an extraordinarily perfumed mid-palate. Intriguing and well balanced. 18
Jancis Robinson: Red. Spicy, warm, a bit reluctant but with depth. Nice, warm, ‘chunky’, ‘savoury’ fruit – big mid-palate with plenty to say for itself. Good length with persistent spice. 17
Jeremy Watson: Again, the structure is good, without the wine being exciting. Good colour, fruit and acids probably miss sufficient tannin for this to be a top wine. 15.5
