BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Concentrated, lots of fruit, better integrated oak than some. More acidity here. Still a big wine, but enough freshness and elegance here for balance. The power of a modern Rioja, but with the freshness and finesse of a traditional wine. Intermediate. 15

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry color, almost opaque. Concentrated, even with some reductive notes, suggesting the wine needs aeration. Massive tannins confirm this. Right now it is a wine in the making. I am rating it as of today, but I believe there is hope for it after some time in bottle. Intermediate. 15.5

Marcel Orford-Williams: Deep color. Lovely nose. Very fine, sweet, and full-flavored. Plenty of middle and satisfyingly rich, if a bit short. Old-style. 16
