Alison Buchanan: Black cherry-garnet, this presents dark fruit on the nose, allied to hints of iodine and a very pronounced meaty, savoury character, liberally spiced with pepper. The palate rather contrasts with the nose, with swaths of silken fruit, supported by supple tannins. Rich and flavoury, ripe and sappy, this is layered with mocha and vanilla cream – opulent, supple and seductive. 18

Jancis Robinson: Red/garnet. Perfumed – almost a hint of talcum – but nice, even fruit and almost silky oak, well balanced and a decent finish, with just a hint of burn on the tip of the tongue at the end. Good; very drinkable. 16

Jeremy Watson: This is a very good wine without being outstanding. Colour, bouquet and taste are all well balanced, yet there is something missing. 16
