Neil Beckett: Medium ruby, with a natural lustre. On the nose, dark, blackburrant fruit of fabulous freshness – almost dripping, vivid. This brilliance is mirrored on the palate, where the ample but beautifully extracted tannins rise and then subside again, revealing fruit of remarkable purity that lingers long on the finish. Characterful enough to merit a lieu-dit first name. Roughly half the price, but certainly not half the quality, of the Clos des Epeneaux.
