Andrew Jefford: Dark in color, with a pretty, violet-sweet nose. Red Auxey rarely has this much aromatic poise. Deep, full, spicy palate with impressive length and a ripe, exotic character. Forceful and textured (the Pommard hand on the tiller?), but with a vivid splash of fruit, too. This has got everything except blue blood: impressive .
