Simon Field: Pleasant and pleasingly complex nose. The palate has a dense core of ripe spicy fruit, with raisins and minerals in encyclopedic combat. Concentrated, serious and beautifully elegant, this wine is a worthy ambassador of a strong vintage. 19
Andrew Jefford: Slightly more red than in some. Creamy, soft, cindery: really a very impressive scent. Lovely nuanced fruit notes around the edge, almost with some summery peach or apricot mixed in with the black fruits. Immensely pleasing, intense, lovely, sinewy muscular quality of fruit plus extract, yet not the massive amplitude or driving depths of the most impressive of all. And somehow those summer fruits turn a bit figgy or raisiny towards the end. 15.5
Richard Mayson: Good deep colour, thin crimson rim. Closed, dark and dense, with a lot to give. Lovely rich, ripe, yet gentle fruit, with soft tannins and a long, ripe finish. Very suave and well balanced. Good. 16.5
