Simon Field: A heady, alcoholic wine, rich, powerful and fulsome. On the palate, this is ripe, dense and with pleasing length and attractive sweetness. Eloquent without being complicated, rich without being overwhelming. A highly successful expression of the vintage. 17
Andrew Jefford: Dark red-black, glycerol levels well up to scratch. Fragrant and fresh, elegant blackcurrant, perhaps lacking a slight element of arom atic amplitude. On the palate, though, it is resolutely mouth-filling, deep, powerful, tannin-saturated, with piles of bramble fruit snowed down with extractive force. Even more impressive once you begin to analyse its power and driving force. The aromas aren’t multidimensioned yet, but give this time... 18
Richard Mayson: Deep, dark colour. Rather raw fruit on the nose, waiting to close down. On the palate, soft, sweet, opulent flavours - not as big as some 2000s but very impressive, nonetheless. The finish is a bit simple and one-dimensional. Short. 14.5
