Simon Field: Inky rich colour, raw savoury nose, hints of crushed violets and meat. A bold and forthright wine, rich, ripe and robust, yet with intriguing, slightly puzzling, almost herbaceous notes on the palate that defy explanation... Not sure about this one. 12
Andrew Jefford: Opaque, dense, very young still, hugely impressive glycerol levels. Dense aromas, too, and tight-grained and meaty. Rich, taut, flavour-saturated, still with a lot of the sm ashed-plant characteristics of young Vintage Port, mingling with sweet ripe fruits. Very promising, with real plunging depths of peppery fruit. 17.5
Richard Mayson: Deep black centre, thin crimson rim. Totally glossy. Big, rich, spicy tannic fruit - very powerful and impressive. Massive tannic superstructure with lovely purity of fruit. Very fine. Drink 2018-2035 plus. 18.5
