Simon Field: Nose a little dull, slightly uninspiring. On the palate, there is a weight of sweet, succulent fruit. Mature, generous, but not in the premier league in terms of definition or persistence on the palate. 12

Andrew Jefford: Quite a pale, translucent wine for a 13- year-old Vintage Port. Sweet, soft but rather attenuated scents. Light, tangy, insubstantial. Should really have been drunk already! 10

Richard Mayson: Mid-deep centre, purple rim. Quite withdrawn on the nose, with a hint of floral fruit. Fine, firm cherry-fruit flavours, with spicy, sinewy tannins rising in the mouth. Very elegant with great poise. Bittersweet finish. Lovely now, but will be better in three years. Drink 2007-2020. 16.5
