Jesús Barquín:Very sweet and vanilla-driven, in a style that is too obvious and sweet. It retains interest, however, in the nicely crafted structure of tannin, acidity, and alcohol. 13
Richard Mayson:Very deep, opaque color; closed, not very attractive at this stage, but with underlying power and intensity. Nicely brooding; big, rich and powerful, ripe with a dusty tannic superstructure rising in the mouth, quite powerful. Perhaps lacking the elegance of some in this vintage but a secure, middle- to long-distance wine. 17.5
Charles Metcalfe:Sweet, ripe, floral aromas, gum cistus in particular. The palate is charming, still with the gum-cistus fragrance, and red fruit. Tannins are smooth, present, but not overwhelming. Acidity is good and lively. Perhaps a little short on the finish, but a lightish style of charm and early-drinking appeal. 15
