Stephen Brook: Muted nose, rich, quite assertive, though fruit is hidden now. Very sweet for Spatlese, rather sappy and soft, broad; ample fruit but lacks grip and finesse. Medium length. 14
Andrew Jefford: Fullish gold. Rank, perfumed fruits; less classically Moselline and floral than some of its peers, with the richness of the vintage lending the wine a more forceful aromatic style. Intense, laden with sugars yet full of vividly ripe acidity, too; very frank, open appeal, yet perhaps lacks a little mineral finesse. Nonetheless hard to resist for sheer fruitability. 14
Jancis Robinson: Very ripe, tropical fruit-redolent nose. Even a hint of coconut - could this be Germany's answer to Hawaiian Tropic? Not much tension and still a bit of sulphur on the finish. Leafy note. Extremely open and just a little slack. Drink 2005-12. 14
