Tim Atkin : Concentrated purple, still youthful. Attractive, perfumed, developed nose with a hint of volatility adding complexity. Good, harmonious palate with soft, supple tannins, good chocolaty fruit weight, fresh acidity and a long, tapering finish. A very attractive older style that will age further. 16.5
Oz Clarke: The palate is quite dry, interesting mix of rich red fruit, sun-dried tomatoes and a hint of almond - which isn't such a bad mix, however eerie it sounds. After all, tomatoes are a fruit, and their savoury flavour is often a delightful addition to more simple fruit flavours. This is very pleasant. It still has some tannin. It seems ripe but not overripe, with the ripe red fruit teetering towards black and maybe, in a year or two, gratefully toppling into it. Already I’m just starting to see some black cherry, a fairly viscous texture - and a higher mark in three years’ time. 16
