Tim Atkin : Hint of development at rim, but good colour intensity. Oaky, rather mean-spirited nose where the fruit already appears to be drying out. High alcohol palate, pronounced acidity and fading fruit. Dry unappetising finish. 13

Oz Clarke: Fairly full but indistinct nose. Palate much the same. Good wine but without focus. Some clove spice, fairly good dark fruit - but which one? The acid is nice, the tannin okay, and the oak is on the chocolaty side. It all adds up to a pleasant, fairly full dry red without any real distinguishing features. Pleasant, fair oak, decent balance, a good drink. 16

Michael Schuster: Dark red; oak-vanilla and blackcurrant nose; medium-full wine with a high alcohol, edgy acidity and very dry tannin; fine, fairly delicate fruit flavour dominated by the frame of tannin, alcohol and acid - finishes short, pinched by its tannin and acid. 13
