Nicolas Belfrage: Suspiciously deep colour, how is this possible with 100% Nebbiolo? Nose closed, oaky, little of Barolo style coming out. Very '97, rich and plummy, mouth-filling, as subtle as fruit juice, big alcohol, oak the predominant feature. Very modernist version, lacks Barolo character. 14

Simon Larkin : Quite intense aromatics, with the marked influence of new oak. The palate has a drying nature, due to oak tannin, vanillin clearly dominates with a creamy natured fruit kept submerged underneath. Modern-style without doubt, though the drying nature pervades everything. One wonders where this will go, as the fruit seems dried and suppressed. Early consumption definitely recommended. 13.5
