Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth with some evolution on rim (color significant for supposedly five-year-old Sangiovese). Some plum and raisin, also something metallic on nose. Metallic note follows into palate, bright acid and ripe tannins, some evolved fruit, good, but not exciting. Drink 2010 for 10 years. 15

Roy Richards Quite dark, cushy Bordelais nose. This has tannic palate and finish, barrels tannins, with some vanillin. International. 14

Franco Ziliani: Intense ruby. The nose is very appealing, interesting with fresh, fleshy, elegant, fruity notes (cassis, plum, cherry), and some mineral, licorice, rhubarb, rosemary, and Mediterranean bush, notes. Creamy, with a good intensity and purity. Very rich, fleshy, savory on the palate, with solid velvety, soft fruit tannins, a good substance and persistence, a round savory, well-balanced finish. Very appealing, elegant, Sangiovese style. 18
