Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright with a garnet rim. Undergrowth, lanolin, and hints of sour cherry on the nose—that is, typical. Juicy and almost sweet on the palate, with ripe tannins and adequate acidity. Porty, ripe fruit on the finish, which is reasonably long. Drinking early but probably for several years. Has type and character. 16.5
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Touch closed, youthful, layered, red-fruit nose, and there are hints of balsamic woods. Medium to full body, with clean red fruit; however, it is a touch simple on the finish. Very well made, yet a touch simplistic. 16
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Gracious, calm, refined; a cup of coffee sipped in the leather armchairs of the library, while the breeze sets the branches of the oak trees brushing the open window... or that kind of thing. Lovely scents here, even if they are not particularly flamboyant. On the palate, the wine is gathered neatly together, with beautifully judged and tempered ripeness: There is none of the voluptuousness of some of its peers. There’s a precise, focused core of fruit, but the shading into secondary complexities is well under way, too. A graceful mid-weight of impressive finesse. 17
