Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Nice acidity, creamy texture, but with firm tannins; it has vinosity and style and huge aging potential. A classic expression of a classic terroir, with a touch of rigidity (or severity, if you prefer) that sets it apart from its peers. 18
Michael Schuster: Dense, fresh, ripe blackcurrant and mineral nose, almost smoky in its minerality. A well-constituted, fairly concentrated middleweight, vigorous, and finely and firmly tannic; juicily vivid ripe fruit, dense, deep, vital, long, complex and complete. Both juicy and very mineral at once, and with excellent length. An aristocratic Domaine de Chevalier red, packed with flavor. 2020–40+. 17/17.5+
