Andrew Jefford: responds well to air. In the mouth, this is a close-textured Barolo that still needs the tongue’s warmth and air to rouse its perfumes and shake out its flavors. Planty and provocative; mushrooms and undergrowth carry the fruits, and the music subsides into licorice root and spice. A long-haul Cascina Francia.
