James Lawther: More classically built than 2009 or 2010 but still with all the depth, length, and vigor of Ausone. Medium-bodied, with a refined and fragrant quality of fruit. Blueberry notes with just a hint of toast behind. Long and linear, with understated freshness and minerality. Fine but substantial tannic frame bodes well for the long term. Drink 2018–45. 18.5
