James Lawther: This doesn’t have the density and elegance of the 2005 but is very much in the mold of Ausone—long, linear, and precise. Dark fruit aroma with notes of black-currant and cherry. Palate zesty and balanced. Clearly the acidity is a factor in this vintage, heightening the freshness and length and reinforcing the tannic structure which is firm but fine. Long and persistent on the finish with a firm, dry end. Worth waiting. 2018–35. 18
