Roy Hersh: A bright ruby optic, with broad bricking on the edge. Explosive aromas of boysenberry, toffee, dried leaves, torched sugar, and some spirit. Medium-bodied, with exacting acidity that sets the stage for delicious, spicy, off-dry morello cherry and dried dates. Silky and suave in the mouth, elaborate layers leading to a luxurious, lengthy finish. Port devotees often speak glowingly of Warre’s elegance, and this 1927 version is proof positive.
