Jesús Barquín: Deep golden. Spirity nose, with a hint of oxidation that does not flatter the wine as well as some other examples tasted previously. The palate is saline and slightly drying, with a dry herb finish. 89
Andrew Jefford: Very deep old-gold tones; clear and light in hue though. This still has some aromatic yeastiness and doesn’t seem oxidized, despite the deep color. Not exactly fresh and pristine, however. On the palate, this has lots of personality and depth, though if you had given it to me with no indications, I would have placed it as pasada rather than young en rama. Lovely grainy purity, saltiness, clarity, limpidity, and cured green-olive umami, but not a fresh young wine—at least not in my book. 89
Peter Liem: This is subtle and composed, showing an en rama intensity of flavor while retaining the elegance imparted by aging under flor. While it’s not hugely complex, it’s harmonious from start to finish, persisting with long, salty aromas. 89
