Neil Beckett:Deep ruby still. Now in full bloom, still with great integrity of fruit, but richly, seductively truffly to smell. Fleshy and richly velvety on the palate, with a delicious, heady, harmonious finish of good length. This has attained its plateau, but should maintain it for several years yet. Laporte prefers 1989 to 1990 on the Right Bank, and it is hard to imagine this hugely pleasurable wine being surpassed by its slightly younger brother.
