BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Super-dense purple color. Not very typical of Sangiovese, to say the least. Big, ripe, bold aromatics, this is a wine that shouts at you. Almost an Amarone style, big and super-ripe with some VA and figgy, sweet fruit. Was this picked in November? Where is the subtlety and finesse of Sangiovese? Tannic finish. 13

Nicolas Belfrage: Very deep; clumsy nose; soupy palate; lacking typicity and elegance. Poor. 10

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet core to garnet/pink rim. Open, mature, cassis-like fruit, with touches of mint and geranium. Full body, fairly astringent and unbalanced, with a bitter finish. 14
