Stephen Brook: Bright, spicy nose, with some complexity: lime, pear, and apricot crowd the aromatic field. Rich, broad, juicy, with some opulence balanced by formidable concentration—this is certainly impressive. There’s admirable minerality and energy here, as well as a tightness of structure that suggests it will be long-lived. The palate has a similar complexity to the nose, and the wine is both subtle and long. 18
Simon Larkin: Sweet, almost candied characters on the nose—a little bonbon/boiled sweet. On the palate, there is a notable viscosity; fat, with modest underlying acidity. There is a pleasing purity here, as well as complex touches of herb and pepper, but insufficient elegance. The fruit is expressive—peach and greengage—with a pleasing juiciness. Undoubtedly a good wine, but it lacks some personality and intrigue. Modest persistence on the finish. 14.5
Andreas Larsson: Much more classical than many, with nice intensity on the nose, where grapefruit, pepper, and stone fruit dominate. The palate is nicely balanced and generous, with spicy fruit and a juicy acidity, which keeps it lingering for a good while on the finish. Still young and potent; well made. 16.5
