Stephen Brook: Muted, waxy, appley nose that could easily be mistaken for Veltliner. Fresh attack, but there’s a lot of C02 in the wine, which gives a false impression initially. Once that wears off, it flops into a broader style, though it’s balanced by piquant acidity that is appealingly mouthwatering. I’m not sure what to make of this. All the elements seem to be in place, and there is reasonable length of flavor, yet it fails to come across as harmonious and integrated now. 15
Simon Larkin: Ripe and heady, this is a powerful Riesling. The palate shows shrill, appley/citrussy fruit, with dominant slaty notes. Mouthwatering in style, there is a firmness to the acidity here. Ripe Cox’s apple and piercing grapefruit, vigorous and powerful with marked, almost teeth-chattering acidity. A wine on fairly strict lines. Long finish. 15
Andreas Larsson: The nose is displaying an extraordinary purity and energy, very mineral with some floral notes. It is very young but already shows a nice precision and structure; bone-dry with a crystal-clear finish, very long and very potent. A remarkably good wine, still in need of cellaring for a few years. Über-good! 19
