Michael Schuster: Very dark mahogany red, narrow, bricking rim; noticeably youthful nose with little development, still marked by its toasty new wood, backward! Quite concentrated, with an austerity resulting from its lively acidity and abundant, firm, dry tannin; a mouthpuckering texture dominates a vivid ripe red fruit flavour, a marked cabernet character, complex and gravely within the firm frame; muscular and chewy, with the texture currently distracting from the fruit core; good, gently spicy length. Needs 10 to 12 years at least, and I wonder if it will ever really harmonise? 2020-45+
