Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep; tendency to orange on rim. Flower and plum on nose. Good acid backdrop for tight cherry fruit and firm but not excessive tannin structure. Loads of tasty ripe fruit held in place well; good breadth and length. Not an obvious wine but one with good credentials. Drink from 2015. 16.5
Stephen Brook: Muted cherry nose, with a hint of tar. Medium-bodied, fresh, and linear, with an appealing assertiveness of fruit. Quite good acidity and tannin both enclose and perk up the wine. There’s a long, tangy finish, with a dash of red fruit to enliven it. Enjoyable if not that complex. 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red, modulating to brick red at the rim. Very sweet, slightly specious aromas of popcorn. Continued swirling doesn’t reveal a lot more. Light depth of flavor, texturally soft, this is a baseline Brunello with no apparent ambition, resource, or depth of flavor. 11
