Tim Atkin: mid-garnet/pink, showing some development. ripe, even overripe, with some jammy notes on the nose. Similarly overripe on the palate. a little hot and developed. A wine that lacks tension. Soft, slightly simple red fruits. 12
Nicolas Belfrage: Good medium depth, definite turn. another classic Brunello, with almost searing acidity and ripe but firm tannins carrying a complex fruit/oak/herb flavor mix. Very Sangiovese, if not yet drinking; should do well from 2015. 17
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to orange rim. Elegant and delicate small-red-fruit nose, with raspberry jam, candied fruits, fennel seeds and hints of mint. Medium to full body, with great, fine tannins, clean red fruit, and a long, mineral finish. A complex, defined Sangiovese, with a long life ahead. 18.5
