Nicolas Belfrage: Deep but bright. Berry fruit on nose, a little muted. Has requisite acid-fruit character but a little disappointing in that one expects more. Finishes a touch dry on both acidity and tannin levels. Needs time; 2016 on. 14
Stephen Brook: Dumb nose with lurking black-cherry and blackberry fruit. Rich, very ripe, suave, and lush, with an appealing creaminess. No blockbuster, but it has ample concentration and sweetness of fruit. Well balanced, with finesse and persistence and sufficient tannin to give some structure. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear red-black. Light, slightly confected cherry-apple fruit. A lack of aromatic resonance and profundity here. Tangy, incisive, biting. Light palate weight; some tannic grip at the edges but without the core to carry the wine. The acid lineaments means that it has concentration and impact, and it would perform much better with food than on its own, but it doesn’t have the depth and dimensions of a great wine from a great terroir in a great vintage. 12.5
