Nicolas Belfrage: Very correct if slightly advanced tawny color. Pungent and quite expressive nose of rose and violet. Subtle and integrated on palate, very good acid-tannin balance, with length and finesse. This is what we’re looking for, even if it’s a bit forward and may not last as long as some - 17.5
Stephen Brook: Fairly deep brick red. Heady aromatic nose: tea, tar, and violets. But is it a touch evolved? Medium-bodied, with welcome freshness that gives it some style and panache. The tannins are firm, perhaps a touch hard, but they’re not aggressive, and the acidity is fresh and vibrant. Not harmonious yet, but this should come together in a couple of years. Good length - 17
Jancis Robinson: Dark with orangey rim. Lovely complex bouquet already. Real lift and complexity and ripeness. Full, eloquent expression. There is delicacy and full ripeness here, with a very neat finish. Very broad and seductive without being at all specious or sweet. Lightly tarry finish - 18
