Simon Field: Deep color once again and a nose of heady ripe creamy overmaturity; raspberry coulis and hints of mocha prevail, leading on to the palate, which is equally plush, well upholstered, and overworked all the way to its drying, rather mean finale, a feeble peroration after such a loud trumpet of expectation - 14.5
Alex Hunt: Blueberry-jam fruit shading into peachy overripeness and marked vanilla oak. A decidedly internationalist approach. The palate rather undermines the stylistic expectations set by the nose: It’s dry rather than juicy, and resinous rather than fruitsweet. The winemaking agenda is at odds with the raw material here - 13.5
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Immensely dark robe; firm air of dark fruit and pepper; a touch green. The fruit is cherry style. Light coffee; roasted airs as well. The palate has a dark, Syrah/Mourvèdre debut and bears black fruit. Ends on grain, chalky breeze tannins, with gras and some lip-smack qualities there. Shows dry oaking on the finish. Leave until 2014. To 2021 - 14
