Andrew Jefford: Deep, dense black-red. Ah—those Conseillante fruits: always the plums of your dreams. At the same time, there is a ruffled fresh sweetness to throw them into high relief. There are more complex aromatic profiles in the flight but not many that are more disarmingly lovely. On the palate, as on the aroma, it is fresh and sweetly defined fruits that are all the pleasure here, and it’s a lot of pleasure. The existence of Duo means that the fruit has real consistency and purity and poise. The tannins and texture of the wine seems a little smoother and lighter than some of its peers at first, and in the overall run of vintages you would not say it was a concentrated La Conseillante. Leave this in the glass, though, and it seems to grow and expand and acquire density by almost magical means. A magnificent reference bottle for the vintage. 2018–28. 94
Michael Schuster: Ripe fruit, but also a hint of leafiness on the nose here; fairly full, moderately concentrated, finely tannic; elegant, restrained, easy-going, relatively supple wine, with a fragrant complexity, nice length; not big, not strong, not tannic, but a refined, graceful beverage wine. 2022–35+. 92
