Tim Atkin: Mid ruby/purple. Intense, aromatic nose. Super-concentrated. Almost a quintessence of Argentina. Very alcoholic, but just about enough fruit for balance. Oak not too assertive, but the finish is dry and a little Porty. Picked a degree less ripe, this would be a better wine. 14
Alex Hunt: The nose is in quite a dry, mineral style, albeit fully ripe. Alcohol is evident on the palate but sits happily alongside the richly savory flavor. This is a big style, but without overemphasis on fruit it actually achieves successful balance. An appealing sense of danger while being very well made. 15
Anthony Rose: Dense color. Rich, red-berry-fruit aromas. Vivid, dark-berry fruits on the palate, with evident sweetness and alcohol, well-integrated oak, and supple but substantial tannins, ending with a slightly sweet, overalcoholic, muscular feel to it. 14
