Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth. Berry (red) and plum on the nose, then sweet, ripe, round fruit on the palate. More forward than most, nicely balanced and drinking soon, but with the ability to last a number of years. 16.5
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Delicate, floral nose, with small red fruits and aromatic herbs. Balanced and clean on the red-fruit palate, and a touch simple on the finish. 16
Andrew Jefford: Mid-depth of garnet red. Vivid, fresh fruits; one of the more primary wines in the tasting from the aromatic point of view. But very deep, very round, very capacious, very earthy, very lush, very full of resource: a scent which commands and which one keeps wanting to return to. Apples, plums, cherries, sloes: super. On the palate, a slight disappointment after all the aromatic richness. This is a relatively short, brisk, taut, tight wine, with fair tannins but little resonance of fruit. Nonetheless, true for the DOCG, and with some depth to it, and the aromatic intricacy deserves reward. True, lively, engaging Barolo. 15
