SR | This 2021 Schlossberg Riesling opens with a delicate and finely flinty bouquet of perfectly ripe and elegant white fruit aromas intertwined with a delicate salinity. On the palate, this is a round, lush, refined, and elegant, lovely, savory, and juicy Riesling, with a decisive mineral expression that carries the wine to a long, intense, and balanced yet also perfectly taut finish. The acidity is remarkably finely pointed and interwoven with the fruit, texture, and mineral substance on this impressive Schlossberg. 94
AJ | Full, bright gold. A soft fruit mist rolls from this wine, and there is almost a creamy undertow beneath; pure, but lots of sensual charm. You might find spice here, too. Classy and complex, but soft-focus (not a failing, just a style observation). Very classic in style, very pure and spotless, though without anything show-stopping, in terms of aromatics or concentration or allusive force. Clean, fresh, mouthwatering, mountain-spring-like, exhibiting the down-the-line classicism of this very consistent grand cru. The fruit qualities are exemplary, and it has delicious finishing vinosity (a key trait for fine Alsace Riesling) and "stoniness" (those are the things that make the mouth water). Hard to hold back... the bottle will be empty before you know it. 93
AR | A pale gold in color, this is still a little closed when you nose it, but albeit in small quantities, it does reveal notes of grapefruit and spring blossom. On tasting, the citrus fruit comes across as almost ripe and full, neatly underpinned by a juicy, albeit sour, acidity that brings a pleasant dryness on the finish. 88
