SR | This is a generous Schlossberg with flinty and herbal notes integrating perfectly with the sensual, bright, and clear Gewurztraminer aromas that are reminiscent of litchee, tea, bergamot, and roses. Full-bodied, dense, and rich, this is a very elegant and aromatic, textured, and finely tannic Gewurz from the Schlossberg, while the finish is intensely aromatic, elegant, and fresh. This 2020 is a perfectly balanced Schlossberg with a long, crystaline, and saline finish. Very stimulating already at this early stage, and for many years to come. 94
AJ | Pale gold with silver-gold glints, but a much more deeply colored wine than our other Schlossberg Gewurz. A soft, gingery warmth, but compared with [Domaine Kirrenbourg Schlossberg Gewurztraminer 2021], this is rather homogenous and uniform though quietly attractive in its pain d'epices charm. Mellow, full, pillowy and unctuous. Enjoyable and baroque, though in a controlled manner. Lovely, smooth, tongue-coating, and soul-soothing Gewurz, though I would not be guessing Schlossberg if I had this blind. You would, though, say that it comes from a site of interest, and it qualifies as a Grand Cru Gewurz. It is richer and more generous than the more Schlossberg-typical [2021 vintage] and merits a low 90s score for sure. 90
AR | Quite an evolved mid-gold in color, this shows some pleasant, floral, Gewurz aromas, and you find that florality and spice when you taste the wine, but I find the opulence is a little overpowering, with a residual sweetness that emphasizes the alcohol rather than balancing it. 87
