SF | Dense squid ink colour, a thin rim concedes little. Nose of brushwood, tobacco and gentle red fruit; Margaux classicism, Margaux restraint. Slightly monochrome thereafter, the force of the tannins somewhat overwhelming but lacking clear definition; the acidity firm and unyielding, the fruit a little compromised by these unyielding growing pangs and the weight of alcohol. 89
MS | Stylish to smell, but with clear new wood cedar dominating the fruit a bit; a rich medium full wine, freshly defined, moderately firm in tannin; sweetly black fruit ripe, pure and Margaux restrained, a touch ‘gripped’ (as is the house way) by a fine, wood dry tannin texture – which you like or not. Margauxesque yes, good, yes but a touch wood-dried for my personal taste. Accessible young for those who like the style, but I’d leave it a while to soften.Drink Dates: 2027 - 2037+. 91
