BB | Garnet to pink. Youthful, defined, red and black cherries nose with dried and fresh herbs, blood oranges, oriental spices and sea salt. Full body, balanced, lively, clean compact, raspberries and red cherries palate. Long and youthful finish. A great Sangiovese to lay down for few years.Drink Dates: 2028 - 2040. 96
AJ | Dark black-red to bright deep garnet at rim. Sweet grasses with cherry and cherry blossom fruits: ample wealth and charm here. Some richer fruits lurking behind. Very Tuscan on the palate -- and a surprise after the sweet and charming nose. Dense, complex, amply tannic, with some austerity but (this is so Tuscan) it is the austerity which compels and intrigues and which, once anatomised, finally turns generous and rewarding. So, yes, "classic" and an excellent wine from this fine vintage. Will be chewy in youth so match with food or wait awhile.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2039. 92
MP | Intense and almost brooding with ripe black fruit including plum, cherry, and berry. There is a spicy note of cedar and ginger with additional parts played by liquorice and campfire. On the palate this has concentrated layers of rich fruit that include cherry compote, plum, cranberry and cold ash. Structurally this is sound with very fine tannins and firm acidity supporting the fruit and suggesting that extended cellaring is warranted. A fine example that is ripe yet not overblown, structured yet not angular.Drink Dates: 2028 - 2032. 97
