AJ | Saturated dense black-red and still opaque at its core. Vibrant, fresh, lots of blackcurrant fruit and blackcurrant tips, too. Tea leaf after that. LIvely, fresh, boisterous and enticing aromas. Clean, sheer, svelte and pure fruit flavours, with ample concentration and attack. Close in style to Lagrange in this vintage: similar purity, but with a little more drive and full throttle; a little more texture, too, whereas Lagrange is all about shapeful fruit puity. Excellent wines both. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2039. 91
SF | A rich inly hue then a classic Beychevelle aromatic of ripe red fruit and soft spice; raspberry compote, crushed pepper and a hint of iodine. The mouthfeel is broad of texture and richly scented, its tannic backdrop ripe and almost unnervingly tame. The finish is soft and yet quietly accomplished; the wine has overcome the challenges of the season with some skill. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2035. 92
