Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright. Up-front aromas of wild cherry and oak. Mouth-filling but not sloppy fruit in the mouth, a hint of 2011 “jam” but nicely balanced by firm acidity and ripe, fine tannins. Very good length, nothing bitter, this will drink well from 2018 for many years. 96

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to ruby. A touch rustic and oxidized on the nose, with an intense spicy character. Medium body, a touch green on the finish. 84

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. A super aromatic profile: ripe, warm, rich, and engaging, with scents of blood, warm stones, roasted fruits, and summer earth. All the ripeness of the vintage, but all the complexity of the place, too. Lush, soft, vivid, and juicy Brunello on the palate, with a very accessible, unforbidding style. Nonetheless, it’s broad and long, and there’s lots of ample soft tannins and ripe, fruit-saturated acidity to marshal the crowd of flavors and move them coherently forward. An outstanding entry point for the vintage. 89
