Stephen Brook: Splendid and rich stone-fruits nose, powerful and weighty but not overbearing. Rich and lush, peachy, full-flavored, expressive, but has reserves of minerality and acidity to sustain it. Succulent and very long. 18

Margaret Rand: Rich and lush—but the acidity is good, and the lushness is on the surface, just lying over the ripe apple fruit. Finish is long and ripe. 15

Jancis Robinson: Very pale. Again, as with [Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Pittermännchen Auslese AP16], some definite heat on the nose. Then canned grapefruit syrup and just the slightest hint of mousiness. This doesn’t quite follow through for perfection. Falls away a little on the finish. Drink 2009–16. 16.5
