BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Bracing lime nose with a kind of tartness that’s stimulating rather than a sign of unripeness. Very sweet for Auslese; silky, fresh, skates along the palate, has an apricotty succulence. But it’s all balanced by fine acidity. Fine potential. Good length. 17.5

Margaret Rand: Fascinating mineral apple nose. Palate appley again, and minerally. Is it lacking just a touch of concentration in the middle palate? The finish is pretty good, and long. 15

Jancis Robinson: Very tangy, mineral-laden, almost nutty nose. Real integrity to this already complex amalgam of aromas. Quite developed on the palate—surprisingly so. The wine loses a bit of tension toward the end of the tasting experience. More delicate and racy than most Nahe Auslesen tasted here. Almost Mosel weight. 2008–13. 17.5
