Stephen Brook: Muted nose, some tropical fruit, mango. Rich, velvety, not oversweet; sumptuous in flavor and texture, with a marked pineapple character on the finish. A very seductive style, if far from subtle, and reasonable acidity and length to keep it going. 17

Margaret Rand: Intense fruit and acidity, structure quite light. Good earthy, minerally peaches fruit, and a vivid finish. Very good, but just seems to lack something in the center. 16

Jancis Robinson: Substantial pale-gold color. Rich, nervy, intense—a pretty rich Auslese, but with good acidity. Lively floral notes with molten acacia honey—definitely a wine of the garden, but not desperately intense. The sweetest Pfalz Auslese. Drink 2012–20. 17
