BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Rich, spicy, invigorating nose, apple and peach rather than citrus; has real aromatic zest. Rich, broad, moderately sweet; creamy but not overblown; fairly good underlying acidity. A forward style, but no reason why it shouldn’t age reasonably well. Long finish. 15.5

Margaret Rand: Earthy, smoky wine, a little light on structure, a slight feeling of wateriness about the structure, even though the acidity is there and there is plenty of flavor. The finish is good. 16

Jancis Robinson: Quite a muted nose—frankly a bit dull. Could do with more lift, acidity, and extract. Rather hot and heavy and astringent. Drink 2010–15. 15.5
